50 Life Quotes From Famous Authors That Prove Everyone Has Bad Days

You’re never alone, and you’ll get through this.

Inspirational, famous literary quotes about life motivate us. When words from someone famous touch your heart, it makes having a bad day easier because you realize you’re not alone.

When bad things happen to you, no matter how many times you hear people say things like, “I can relate” and “I went through the same thing,” it ALWAYS feels like you’re going at it alone. Maybe you’ve just gotten over a terrible breakup.

You know, the one where you don’t think you’ll ever be able to think about them again without feeling heartbroken and regretful. Yeah, those kinds of breakups suck a LOT. Or maybe you’ve been dealing with personal issues that just don’t seem to go away, no matter how hard you try to keep your head above water.

Now, like I said before, you have probably heard this over and over again, but I’m going to repeat it: you’re not alone; you really aren’t.

And I don’t mean that the person who sits next to you in class is going through the same thing or your coworker for that matter. I mean that no matter who you are in this world — including those who seem like they’re too famous to have any heartache or crappy days — we all go through the same things.

One of my favorite cathartic ways to cope with these bad days is to read inspirational life quotes. Reading can take you to a completely different place where nothing bad could ever happen, or it can take you somewhere you can relate to, except this time, the bad things don’t seem as unmanageable.

And believe it or not, even when the story is fiction, authors often find their inspiration from experiences they’ve already gone through, which means that breakup or crappy year you’ve been having, they’ve had it, too. It’s motivating when you hear a life quote about how someone you admire overcame their own hardships.

But more than just writing about these not-so-great feelings and experiences, authors give you advice on how to deal with it, even if you don’t realize it’s advice at first.

Take The Perks of Being a Wallflower, for example. At the beginning of the book, the main character is dealing with depression and anxiety, and doesn’t feel like he’ll ever get out of this endless loop of feeling like he doesn’t belong.

Yeah, everyone, myself included, can relate to these feelings. But by the end of the book, he learns how to manage what he’s feeling, make new friends, and knows how to take care of himself without feeling bad about it, which is something a LOT of us are still dealing with.

So, what can this book teach you? That every crappy experience is temporary; and more than that, there are always good days ahead. You journey might not be 200 pages long, but authors who write about life and love know that these things take time, all you need is a little push to help you on the right path.
