Who ever said there was anything wrong with being single?
There are a lot of reasons you may find yourself living the single life. Maybe someone broke up with you, maybe you broke up with someone.
Maybe you’ve been single for a couple of months or a couple of years, or maybe you’ve been single your whole life. Maybe, just maybe, you’ve found yourself newly single for the first time in a long time.
The idea of being single, being on your own, can be scary. You’re so used to having someone there for you through everything.
Someone there for the little things like goodnight and good morning texts and kisses, and someone there for the big things to help you celebrate life’s milestones, like birthdays and new work opportunities.
Now that you’re single, who will you go to for these things? It seems like the end of the world, but you’ll get through it.
Maybe we can look on the bright side of the single life, and find the positives of being a single woman in today’s society.
Take it from some of us who have been single for a while: you get used to it. That doesn’t sound too appealing, though, does it? Let’s try that again.
Are you open to being in a relationship? Of course, you are. You would love to have someone to go on cute dates with and make your friends roll their eyes at your social media takeover, right?
The thing is, us single ladies are not unhappy being single, we’re doing pretty well, thanks for asking.
So a guy has to make you super happy, and make you feel pretty damn amazing about yourself, better than you already do, for you to date him. It takes a while getting to this point and feels this way, but you will.
And if a newfound sense of self-confidence and happiness isn’t completely winning you over on how amazing the single life is, think about all the benefits of being single!
Think about all the amazing single things you get to do. You get to dress solely for yourself. The only people who need to approve your life choices is YOU. You can sleep in as late as you want (unless you have to work) and stay out as late as you want (considering if you have work the next day) and not have to answer to anyone.
Also, you don’t have to share your food OR your bed.
And you become okay with being single, though it doesn’t mean you’re going to be forever alone. Guys will come along. You will give some of them a chance, and others you may not give the time of day.
Being single for a while will give you time to get to know yourself better and you will know exactly what you want out of life and out of a relationship.
If you are scared of your new found single freedom or are unsure about embracing what the single life has to offer, maybe you just need to be able to laugh about where you are in life right now.
If that sounds like you these quotes and memes are for you. They will remind you how strong you can be while still being single, how it is not a low point in your life, and how it can be pretty damn awesome at times too.
